Every month of the year offers something new to do in Islamorada. From nationally televised boating and fishing events to cozy book readings and local theatre, our village of islands plays host to every type of entertainment. Many of these events encompass the best of our community's attractions by combining waterfront venues with great food, island music, a touch of local heritage and friendly faces united for a good cause.

Auctions, raffles and benefit sporting tournaments are another staple of social life on the islands, and visitors to the Keys are always welcome to join the fun.

Green and Clean Islamorada Clean Up Day
Islamorada, Village of Islands Parks & Rec Dept. & Public Works Dept. present KEEP ISLAMORADA PARKS AND ROADWAYS GREEN & CLEAN -- Join Islamorada Staff and Volunteers and help keep your Village Clean. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to supply drinks and snacks and hats. Bring water shoes or tennis shoes, bug spray and sunscreen. Iced Water coolers, trash bags and latex gloves will be provided. We will meet at 9:00 AM at Tea Table Fill MM 80.5 Southbound

Florida Keys Green Living & Energy Education EXPO
Friday, May 9, will feature: Friday Professional Courses: Continuing Education Units for contractors, architects and other building professionals, offered close to home, frees up more time to see exhibitors on Saturday. Green Living Awards Ceremony: Featuring local efforts, the 1st Annual Green Living Awards will highlight progressive steps towards sustainability taken by local citizens, businesses and policy makers. Business to Business Reception: Following the Awards, GLEE facilitates socialization amongst awardees, local businesses and Expo exhibitors and presenters. Saturday, May 10, will feature: Presentations & Workshops: Speakers from around the country cover solar power, water conservation, building green, biodiesel, selecting energy- and water-efficient appliances, global warming, green transportation, green lodging and more than two dozen other interesting and informative topics. All audiences, including citizens, businesses and building trades will find timely and useful information. Exhibitors: Over 50 developers and distributors of green technologies and services will showcase and answer questions about their products, including solar-water heaters, alternative building materials and energy- and water-saving devices. Alternative Transportation Display: Check out and ask questions about a wide variety of hybrid, electric and bioenergy-fueled cars. Organic Farmers Market: Skip the pesticides, hormones and preservatives by buying directly from local organic farmers. Food court will feature organic burgers and veggie options for your on-site hungers as well as a wide variety of take-home healthy goodies. Sunday, May 11 will feature: Mothers Day Brunch: The Love Your Mother Earth brunch celebrates healthy living, and features organic offerings from the Marathon High School culinary arts program, with tips and tutelage from local restaurateurs. Networking Round Table: Special for Expo exhibitors and presenters, the chance to network with leadership from the Keyswide Sustain-Ability Project, including all six local governments. Florida Keys Green Tours, including: Green Home Tours of local homes boasting renewable energy, alternative building materials, and efficiency renovations. Discounts to local ecotourism destinations, including our award winning state parks, natural history Ecotours of our natural areas from esteemed kayak, bicycle & snorkeling guides.

Havana Under the Stars !
A Family Affair - Benefit for Brian Walters at the Coral Shores High School Court yard, from 6:30 PM until 10:30 PM - Live Salsa Music by Havana Soul, the best Cuban Band Ever! And DJ Entertainment, too. The dancing will never stop ! There will be Spanish Paella, dominoes competiton, Art Exhibit, Silent Auction and Raffles! Tickets are $30.00 for kids, $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for kids under 10 yrs old.
